Habitat Day 3!!!! Ryan and Melanie here to tell you a little bit about our fourth day here in the Bay Area and our third day at work for Habitat! At Habitat, we continued to have groups work on fences, painting, and laying down floors in the houses. (click here for more pictures from our trip.) Ryan and I both were laying down floors and we both got a little frustrated with it, but in the end it’s been very rewarding. Melanie actually almost got an entire room done by herself (after many mess-ups and tossed boards later…) and Ryan and Sarah almost got a room done as well! All-in-all, all of the students’ work is starting to look really good!
Ryan and Sarah worked all day to day putting in wood flooring in one of the upstairs room. They had all most the whole room done and then they found out that some of the rows of flooring didn’t go under the base boards. So they had to rip up the floor and get new pieces of flooring so that there would not be any gaps between floor and base boards.
After we were done at Habitat, we had a couple of hours before we all hopped backed into the vans and headed out to the Stoneridge Mall for some dinner and hanging out! Some of us found out that even though the mall was kind of cool and had some good stores, it lacked a book store. And my friend Brougane all most cried because there was no book store.
Overall, it was a good day.
Thanks for all your prayers,
Melanie Redding and Ryan Hawkins

Praying for all of you – constantly, and excited about the growth you’re experiencing! Great work at HFH, and I know you will be experiencing more of the same in Mexico. Be safe down there, stay together, and our prayers will be constantly lifted before the Lord, on your behalf, that He show you a little bit more about Himself and His grace and mercy for us all.
