About Joshua
Rich Ferreira Director
After graduating with his Masters in Theology from Talbot Seminary, Rich and his wife Becky began working full-time for Hume Ministries in 2001. Rich’s passions are discipleship and teaching God’s word in a way that brings it alive in today’s world. In his spare time, Rich enjoys international travel (especially Israel), motorcycle riding, off-roading and spending time with his wife, daughter Ellie and son Jaron.
Kari Kurth Administrative Assistant
Born in Long Beach and raised in Auburn, California, Kari has returned to Hume after a long absence. Her employment with Hume began as a summer staff member in 1997. She was pursuing a degree in Criminology when she and her husband returned to Hume. She has since put that career on hold to serve JWI.
Jen Manlif Womens Coordinator
Jen grew up in Mesa, Arizona, later attending Southwestern Bible College for her degree in Christian Ministries. She has spent the last eight years in Walnut Creek, California, where she's worked with Young Life, an interdenominational Christian outreach to high school and middle school students. Jen is passionate about living out Christ in her life and discipling through relationship. In her free time, she manages a coffeehouse, reads, enjoys a crossword and a cup of coffee or takes road trips to Santa Cruz.
Rachelle Ferreira Female RD
Born and raised in San Diego, California. Rachelle has spent the past four years finishing school. She attended a junior college in San Diego for a year and a half, participated in a semester program in Madrid, Spain and finished her last two years of school in Seattle. In Spain, she lived with a family while learning Spanish, attended school, and traveled throughout Europe each weekend. Rachelle graduated from Seattle Pacific University, earning a Bachelor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. She hopes to establish a home/ school for homeless youth in her future. Her passions include family, traveling and social justice.
Dallas DeWitt Male RD
Dallas has spent most of his life moving around, having semi-nomadic parents. He has spent time in California, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Alaska and Peru. He attended Liberty University for two years followed by the Joshua Program in 05-06. Dallas has worked at Hume Lake for five summers in both the high school and junior high camps, and he has also been a teacher for Hume's Outdoor Education program. Some of his interests include basketball, reading, the animal kingdom, photography and traveling. His favorite animal is the snow leopard.
Hillary Chaddock Cook
Growing up in Stockton, California, Hillary pursued a future in theatre during high school and college. Although college was great, she decided to come to Hume and attend Joshua. As a returning Joshua alumnus, Hilary is joining the staff as a cook because she feels God has given her a passion for food and a love for people, which is always the best combination.
Paul Dixon Cook
Paul grew up in Placerville, California and has been coming to Hume since 1990. He is a graduate of the Joshua Wilderness Institute and spent the last year serving on full time staff at Hume Lake. In his spare time, you can find him playing disk golf or building forts in the woods.
