Sam Meier Sepetember 8-18, 2008

Sam Meier received his Ph.D. from Harvard University 1987 in Hebrew and Semitic Languages and Literatures. Currently an associate professor at Ohio State University, Sam has received many academic honors and awards, authored two books and is a gifted expositor of God's word.

John Saltee September 29 - October 2, 2008

John is a retired Fire Captain from the Los Angeles City Fire Department. After retirement, John went back to school and graduated from Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. He is currently a student at Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido. John has been asked to fill the senior pastor position of a Presbyterian Church in North San Diego County, and he has found that to be the most fulfilling position he has ever held. He has also served as Senior Chaplin at the Ventura County Rescue Mission, ministering to homeless men, women and children, as well as being a primary teacher to men in a ten month drug and alcohol recovery program. John has two grown sons and lives with his wife Becki in Sun City, California.

Michael Bogart October 6-9, 2008

Mike is the Family Life Pastor at Campus Bible Church in Fresno and the Director of JARON Ministries. He holds a Master's degree from Denver Seminary and has served in a wide variety of ministries since 1974.

Matt Lantz October 20-23, 2007

Matt is a graduate of Texas Christian University and Dallas Theological Seminary, as well as a resident of the Tyler, Texas community where he is a member of Sylvania Church. Matt’s joys are teaching and discipleship. Fortunately, he found a Christian camp, Pine Cove, that pays him money to do what he loves. There, he serves as the Director of the Forge, an eight month discipleship community designed to prepare emerging leaders for a lifetime of ministry.

Ken Graves October 27-30, 2008

Ken is the founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Bangor. He grew up in Bangor, Maine, but left at the age of 16 to pursue training in the ministry. At the age of 22, he responded to a call from God to present the Gospel and build a church in his hometown. Ken also has a radio show broadcast on a radio station established by his church.

John Alvarado November 3-6, 2008

John founded Reflect Ministries, where he ministers to children and families in poverty. He has also spent time overseas in South America and Papua New Guinea where he has visited over nine different tribal cultures in the Amazon and Guinean Jungles. John's desire is to serve God with his entire life and he challenges others to do the same.

Jim Cecy November 10-13, 2008

With a Doctor of Ministry degree from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, Jim is the president of JARON Ministries International, a training ministry for Christian leaders in the U.S. and abroad. He is also the Senior Pastor-Teacher at Campus Baptist Church in Fresno, California. He is a regular at Hume Lake, giving insight and application to Biblical Truths. Jim's knowledge of language and his passion for the Word are apparent and refreshing.

Spencer Maccuish December 1-4, 2008

After spending five years teaching English in the public school system and a handful of years as a High School Pastor and seminary student, Spencer joined forces with a few other men and founded Eternity Bible College. For the past five years, he has taught at EBC and played a key role in its continued development. Spencer is passionate about seeing people grow in their understanding and commitment to Scripture and their ability to apply it properly within their culture.

Mark Strauss December 8-11, 2008

Mark is a professor of New Testament at Bethel Seminary in San Diego, and he is a frequent speaker at camps, conferences, retreats and churches. Using humor and relevant personal applications, he seeks to communicate God's Word clearly and accurately by making it relevant to all aspects of life. His passion is to call God's people to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love one another as Christ loves the church. In addition to his teaching, he is presently interim senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of San Diego.

PJ & Sheri Lewis January 12-15, 2008

P.J. and his wife Sheri have been working coming up to Hume since 1994. Their ministry is one of faith. Only faith can make trusting disciples of Jesus and develop a real love for God and others. P.J. is currently a teaching/counseling pastor at Hilltop Community Church in Carson City, NV.

Dave Ferreira January 19-22, 2008

Dr. Ferreira lives in Escondido, California with his wife Becky where he serves in his local church and continues his counseling practice of 30 years. He received his PhD from California School of Professional Psychology and his Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Biola University. Dr. Ferreira enjoys teaching and is an adjunct professor for Biola University, Talbot Seminary, and Bethel Seminary. In his free time, you can find him spending time with his grandkids or flying his airplane.

Josh Riebock Jan 26-29, 2008

Josh Riebock was born in the western suburbs of Chicago and spent the next 18 years trying to avoid God. The past decade Josh has spent his time studying culture, story, and the Bible and communicating those things across the country and the world at churches, college campuses, conferences, concerts, and seminars in raw and authentic ways. Using his own experiences, observations on life and culture, and the story of scripture, Josh has the unique ability to connect the story of God and the story of his audience while getting the real Gospel underneath people's skin.

Brad Bell February 9-12, 2008

Brad is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently the senior pastor of The Well Community Church in Fresno, CA. He has a passion for the ministry and exposing the truths in the word of God.

Steve Wyper February 16-19, 2008

Mr. Wyper graduated with a degree in history from University of Redlands and later earned an MA in Theological Studies from Biola University, Talbot Seminary. He is a retired school teacher and a Vietnam veteran. With almost 40 years of teaching, Mr. Wyper was intimately involved in the Creation-Evolution controversy in the public school setting. He has spoken at a variety of conferences and seminars on the topics of Creation vs. Evolution, Cultic and New Age Systems and the Resurrection of Jesus. Married to Trish, a speech pathologist, for almost 40 years, they have a daughter and son, both graduates of Westmont College.

Michelle Anthony is currently teaching Inductive Bible Study as well as ministering part-time as the Director of Family Ministries at the Rock in Educational Leadership. She enjoys photography, cooking, baking, entertaining, and going to her children’s cheer competitions and baseball games!

Christopher W. Mitchell March 9-12, 2008

Dr. Mitchell is the Director of the Wade Center and Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Wheaton College. He received a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where his concentration was Historical Theology. Lecturing often on J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, Dr. Mitchell has also authored several published works on Lewis, including "Bearing the Weight of Glory: The Cost of C. S. Lewis' Witness.” Dr. Mitchell and his wife, Julie, live in Wheaton with the two youngest of their four children.

Ross Inman March 16-19, 2008

Ross has been involved with Hume Lake Christian Camps as a camper, counselor, or staff member for 16 years. He completed his undergraduate work in Philosophy and Biblical Studies at San Diego Christian College and is currently a full-time graduate student completing a Masters in Philosophy and a Masters in Theology from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. Ross and his wife Suzanne reside in Southern California where they enjoy discipleship unto Christ in the company of good friends, good books, and good food.

Dr. Tim LaHaye is a noted author, minister, educator and nationally recognized speaker on Bible prophecy. He is the President of Tim LaHaye Ministries and founder of the Pre Trib Research Center where he writes for their monthly prophetic newsletter. He also is a regular participant on the popular Christian TV program, The King is Coming.

Daniel Goetz March 30-April 2, 2008

Daniel Goetz has been a teacher at Immanuel High School in Reedley, California for the last 6 years. He teaches “The Life of Christ” and “Church History” as well as Architecture, Interior Design and Drafting. Daniel was a teaching pastor and elder with Community Christian Fellowship for 7 years prior to joining the Immanuel staff full-time. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, College of Architecture and had been involved in the commercial and residential construction industry for approximately 25 years.

Jim Cook May 4-7, 2008

Jim is a former missionary in India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. Subsequently in Honolulu, Hawaii he founded International Baptist Church and College & Graduate School of Theology. After 16 years in Hawaii he became senior pastor of First Baptist Church, San Jose, CA. He is presently ministering with International Ministries across this nation and around the world. He uniquely blends a world focus with personal responsibility.
