Hello friends and family! Here we are in our last week in the building. It’s a bittersweet time for us. We’re excited about what the summer brings, but we know that we’ll miss life here in the building together. The girl community came together on Sunday after work and had dinner by the lake. We were dressed in our finest and took pictures together afterwards. It’s strange to think that we’ve only known each other since September, because it feels like we’ve been together our whole lives. Our speaker is Jer Swigart. His topic for us this week is community, what that looks like biblically, and how he lives it out. We find ourselves hanging on to his every word. This is a man that lives out community, something that we’ve been forced to do for the last 9 months, only he does it willingly. Something Jer said that really impacted us is: “The way of Jesus is not meant to be lived in isolation.” We’ve spent our time here at Joshua learning how to live in community, now it’s our job to go out and build community. The packing has commenced. We are all in various stages, some are completely packed, while others are dragging their feet, like me (Kristin). It’s hard to pack up the room that we’ve called home for so long, but the anticipation of the new season of our lives helps us to press on. Through all of the craziness of this week I find a song lyric stuck in my head: “This is not the end, this is not the end of this.” Joshua begins when Joshua ends.
