Happy belated Martin Luther King Day!
We celebrated the holiday by having a four-day winter camp for High School students. With over a thousand kids in attendance, it was the largest winter camp we’ve
worked thus far. It was also the second winter camp we’ve worked thus far. We’re talkin’ broom hockey, we’re talking’ screamin’ off the top of the screamer, we’re talkin’ boxsled blitz blues. Our green coats, those chosen few who got to run the fun and games, sent twenty-two tubes down the tube run – at one time! Also, no students got taken off the run on a backboard. Success!
Also: Chase Silver, the co-author of this blog, was asked to prom this May by a random high school student. He said yes. What a heartbreaker!
According to Daniel Mauck, our brothers working S.S. got to plunge their first toilet this weekend. Another success!
Logan Commons was on Love Patrol, it seemed, stumbling upon the same couple in PDA mode three different times. He politely encouraged them to get involved in some of the great activities that were going on all around them!
This weekend many of us also had opportunities to connect with students on a deeper level, which was encouraging and exciting. Austin Mayoral got to hear a students’ story and encourage him in his walk with Christ.
These are only a few of the awesome stories that went down this weekend.
Love and peace,
Chase Silver & Tristan-Charles Green
