Day 2

Overlooking the valley of Elah

Overlooking the valley of Elah

Hello, we are going to write you a blog. Today is the second day of our tour in Israel and we stopped at a ton of different places today, but we are just gonna talk about a few of the things that impacted us today. One of the coolest parts of the day, was being able to climb to the top of Azekah , and look out over the valley where David killed Goliath. It is so crazy to think that we are actually here in Israel, and that this is all real. It was kind of gnarly to think about David simply shepherding on the hillside with his sheep spending time with God and learning to trust Him. Rich’s biggest lesson he has been teaching us this year is how to be good in the little things. This seemed kind of unimportant at first to me, especially when we first heard it, but as the year goes on it is becoming more apparent that the big things all stem from being faithful in the little stuff. David’s life seems to really show this as true, like building blocks, God took him through lots of stuff to prepare him for later. We are currently in the Negev desert heading south to the Dead Sea, and we are really excited to see what God is going to teach us in the next 10 days.  Click here to see more photos from our trip, or click here to see past blogs.

It’s wonderful to see all of you enjoying The Messiah’s stomping grounds! Keep up the great blogs and photos. The Dead Sea looks like the survivor scene of the Titanic except you’re all smiling ;o).
Great to hear your voice this morning Hailey! Soak it up. Literally. :o)

Isn’t it an amazing trip??? And to think you are only a few days into the trip! I am thinking of you guys and praying for you all the time! In church today they talked about David fighting Goliath and it was so awesome because I got a picture in my head of the actual place where battle took place. And the stream. There was a bit of fighting with my “Sunday School” picture in my head but even now it is hard for me to grasp that I have ACTUALLY been there. I get so excited when I get to remember my time in Israel and I can picture where the actual places where the events took place! What a blessing! Enjoy it!

This is the Eggert family, We want to say hello to Joshua and tell you all that we have laughed and cried as we have watched and enjoyed all the sites you have shared via the web site. We are praying for you all and rejoice with the places God has allowed you all to see and experience. The Baptisms, seeing your faces and seeing the Jordan river takes our breath away. Thanks for sharing many of your thoughts and your commitments to Jesus to walk with him and serve him. Josh, all is well at home. We love you buddy. We look forward to seeing all of you on May 9-10th God is so good. I especially loved your pics and thoughts about the place where Jesus taught the beatitudes. That is a favorite part of Scripture for me. Blessings to you all, Love the Eggerts. PS somebody give Josh a big hug for us! Thanks!
